There has been some debate recently suggesting a currency union between NZ and Australia. much discussion over should it be an Anzac dollar, should it be pegging the NZ$ to the Australian dollar.
With the growth in China averaging nearly 10% a year for the last nearly nine years and the growth in South East Asia a viable South East Asian Economic Community containing 100's of millions of people would be a large economic force. that combined with an enlarging European Union suggests to me that the future will be Economic communities.
My suggestion is that NZ and Australia become an Economic community, formally expand the CETA aggrement to cover all customs as a customs union. This would give a bigger economic powerbase to the South Pacific. If we then added the one million people from the various Pacific nations this would create a large enough to get noticed economic community.
From their the future could involve us getting an agreement with the ASEAN or NAFTA communities and safeguarding our economic future.
The All Blacks would be safe...if we use the EU as a model there is no EU rugby team but their is a British and French one.

Woohoo!! Well done David! I set up a blog a few years ago for my rellies overseas ... if they were holding their breath waiting for my latest news, they'd all be well expired by now!!! It's a great fun, time-absorbing thing to do - best of British keeping it up!
